How to join
Register online
Sign in with Discord, tell us whether you're in for the draft and pay by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay. It takes a minute, and check-in is just a scan of your code.
Straight in
Show your check-in code at the table and you're through. Your picks and payment are already sorted.
What it costs
$10 to play, paid when you register. $5 off with your ACORN registration. Spectators are completely free.
Playing the draft?
Draft sign-up closes at 1:30 and you have to be in the room for it. Casual setups run all afternoon either way.
What it's about
Squid Social is Toronto's monthly in-person Splatoon meetup, and it's the heart of what we do. Once a month we take over a room at the University of Toronto and fill it with setups, brackets, and people who love this game as much as you do.
The afternoon runs competitive and casual at the same time: a draft bracket for players who want to test themselves, and open lobbies for everyone else to jump between. We match people together to make teams as balanced as possible. Your experience, rank, none of it matters. Everyone has a great time in the draft brackets.

Line 1 and Line 2 both stop here. Come out onto St George Street and turn left, staying on the near side.

Turn left at 119 St George St and you're there. Give yourself a few extra minutes the first time so you can find the right entrance.
GO and VIA trains both arrive at Union Station, which is on the subway. From there, take Line 1 north and you're at St George in about ten minutes, no transfer needed.
The space
One room we take over for the day. Setups line tables at one end, the middle stays open for spectating and hanging out between matches. Washrooms and water are just down the hall.
Food nearby
Bloor Street is a minute back up the road, and the Annex is just west of it. Bring something back if you like, though water is the only drink allowed once you're inside the hall.
Parking
Rotman Garage is a five-minute walk, about $10 flat on evenings and weekends.
What to bring
Console, Splatoon 3 and Controller
Any type of Switch, any controller.

Only needed if you're not playing handheld. Always bring the brick.

Every dock, adapter and charging brick on the tables belongs to someone. Don't take one off a setup, even for a minute. Find a staff member and we'll help you out.
Your first event
1:00 PMCheck in
Come to the check-in table when you arrive and show your check-in code. We already have your picks and your payment, so you're straight in.
1:00 to 1:30Find a setup
Two rows of setups run across the top of the room. The left side is casual all afternoon; the right side turns over to the draft at 2. Plug your dock into a power strip anywhere open and drop into a lobby.
Last call · 1:30Sign up for the draft
Sign-up closes at 1:30 and you have to be in the room for it. Miss it and you can't play in the draft that day. There's no one table for it, so just be in the room. The casual side keeps running all afternoon either way, so it costs you the draft and nothing else.
2:00 PMThe draft runs
From 2 the right-hand setups are the draft. Matches run through the rest of the afternoon alongside the casual lobbies, so you're never cut off from the rest of the room whichever side you're on.
~6:00 PMWinners, then the group photo
The draft winners get their photo taken inside, on the open floor. After that everyone heads outside for the group photo of the whole room. It's the part regulars talk about, and it's worth staying for even if you spent the day on the casual side.
There's an open desk in the middle of the room that isn't a setup: handhelds, sitting down, talking to someone, whatever you want it for, and a screen playing the stream so you can watch a match without crowding a setup. Washrooms and water are just down the hall, and food is fine in the room as long as you clean up after yourself. The venue only allows water as an outside drink.
